Tall heat loving annuals with ornamental heads, and high protein seed and leaves. Young plants are cut for salad and micro-greens, seeds are ground for bread flour, popped, or baked in breads. This variety was first sent to Frank & Karen Morton out in the Oregon Tilth, from Richard de Wilde, an intergenerational organic farmer since 1984, in the Harmony Valley of Viroqua, Wisconsin. Said to be the most favoured variety of a large contingent of vocal Salad Growers for being the best tasting variety, as well as by gardeners for being smaller framed and well behaved. The deep magenta Foliage is beautiful in Salads, Floral (Bouquets) and in the Garden reaching 3-5’ tall.
Approximately 500 Seeds per/pkg.
