Edible chrysanthemum with lobed green leaves and aromatic taste, used in salads, vegetable stir fry, pickles, and the flowers of bolted patches are instant insectaries, attracting Syrphids, Ladys, and beneficial wasps. Direct seed or transplant to stand 15-20cm (6-8") apart. Cut for bunching at 20cm (8"), or pick individual leaves for salad mix. Aromatic annual with special significance in Japanese culture and cuisine, a royal symbol of the Chrysanthemum Throne. Seedlings are as hardy as lettuce, and will germinate in cool soil along with the earliest spring crops.
